Ad Campaign Goals
RUNNING AN AD ON INSTAGRAM is easy to do. All you need is to pick a campaign goal, an appropriate picture or post and then find the target audience. The campaign goal is what determines how Instagram is going to be running your ad, how much it will cost per click and more importantly, what the end goal of the ad is going to be. You have a few options to select from, letâs go over them quickly.
Brand Awareness
This option is primarily geared towards Instagram profiles that are trying to get more people aware of their business. If youâre going to promote a post, for the purpose of simply making people aware that your product exists, without having an explicit call for action or the next step for the customer to take, this would be the right one to use. Why use the Brand Awareness option? Because you can get significantly higher levels of reach with it. While itâs not explicitly calling for customers to take action, it helps increase brand recall. Brand recall is important when advertising later down the road, mainly because a customer who recalls your brand from previous ads has a higher chance of engaging. Think of a brand awareness campaign like planting seeds that you will reap later. Get the idea in their mind at first, warm the customer up and then, later on, reap the rewards with a direct ad campaign.
Reach
Reach is similar to brand awareness, but with one big difference. The reach goal is simply focused on maximizing the number of people who see your ad. Brand Awareness tends to focus on finding people who are the most relevant before showing them the ad. Reach instead looks to just get your ad out in front of as many people as possible, sacrificing some of that specificity. However, if the products you are selling arenât targeted and the general population would benefit from it, Reach is a great way to help potential customers become aware of its existence.
Traffic
Traffic is a consideration goal, meaning that youâre actually aiming for more than just generating brand awareness. The traffic option means that you are looking to put your Instagram ads in front of people who are going to have the highest probability of clicking on the ad and visiting your website. This, of course, can lead to higher levels of sales if youâre directing them to a specific sales page. However, you can also use this traffic goal to direct potential consumers to things like your websiteâs blog or event page as well.
